Ace has been playing for his regular team and takes any opportunity to fill in for pool play, when a coach needs another kid to fill a space on their team. Almost 7 1/2 hours of baseball this past Saturday and somehow we managed to fit in a karate class. I'm still not sure how we managed to bend the space time continuum to make that happen.
This season Ace gets to play for his all time favorite coach and we're just as pleased as he is about this. This guy is the kind of coach normal people envision for kid's sports, level headed, instructional, upbeat and never yells at the kids. Even when they make some abysmal plays, he find a way to show them the lesson in the errors. He encourages them to try different positions and be confident. While being competitive, it's not all about winning for him. Ace absolutely loves being on his team. Except for one small thing, that damn Yankee's symbol on the uniform.
The Met's are his team and it's heresy to put on that Yankee blue shirt and step up to the plate.
