When the stink is fierce, light a candle

Where ever I go in the house, there is usually a dog by my feet. I like to train them early to stick close because I get cold feet and what's better than a warm dog laying over your toes on a chilly evening, I ask you?

SuperHubby called earlier today to tell me he caught Thunder snacking on some critter in the yard. He discovered this when he noticed she was very intently focused on something in the grass and as he went to investigate, she gobbled it down very swiftly, mostly because she saw him coming and knew he would not approve of her snacking choices and take it away.

That's when he saw the feathers sticking out of her mouth and all other evidence destroyed.

It would not be the first time she has snatched some poor feathered creature from the air.

She takes her role as property manager very seriously.

I don't think fresh bird digests very well in the gullet of a pampered border collie/lab mix.

While browsing the internet, with dog draped over my feet, the stink of dog farts rose up to smother me in a cloud of noxious fumes. I think my nose hairs are burning. I'm going to light some candles now. And maybe change my clothes.

I've been thinking of creating a "dog fart" candle, for those times when we must travel without our canine companions. If you must control your dogs' farts ... Beano helps - give it to them with their food. I had one dog who almost killed us and could clear a room faster than anyone I ever met. Trust me on this.

Tammy:
thanks for the Beano idea. Never thought to give it to the dogs. We had a Rhodesian Ridgeback that would stink herself out of a room, so I empathize!
