For the past few days I've been thinking about an image I saw and was unable photograph. As I was traveling down the Parkway on the bus we passed a tributary near Red Bank. There ,just beyond the busy highway, was an Egret perched on a rock that jutted out into the water. The bird sat there serenely, oblivious to the traffic zipping by, with its feather's ruffling in the warm summer breeze, sunlight glinting off the water.
The lighting was perfect, the shot just so and I could not say STOP THE BUS. Or the other passengers would have bodily tossed me out of the moving bus as they were grumpy and wanted to go home.
Alas, a photo opportunity missed but I will retain that sight in my head to take out and savor as I wish. And maybe that is what was supposed to happen.
