Nature's Deliciously Smart Treat

To those that do not know me this confession may be somewhat shocking. I am completely unapologetically addicted to dark chocolate. It’s my crack. Gimme!! Gimme!!

Shopping at the local Wegman’s the other day, I was trying to decide which of the dried fruits should get tossed into our cart. Then I see the words dark chocolate covered plums - which summarily ended the choice struggle right there. I love plums and now I can get them dried and covered in Dark Chocolate?? Well, ALRIGHTY!!!

PLUMSWEETS – dark chocolate covered dried plum bits…double the antioxidant goodness! What a smart healthy choice I am making by selecting this bounty from the shelf, rather than snagging any of the other clearly inferior choices of plain dried cranberries, dried apricots or other dried fruit snacks arranged so colorfully before my eyes.

I could eat this entire bag in one sitting, without taking a breath. That is how much yummy goodness I find in this treat. It starts with a couple of pieces and the next thing you know the bag is empty. I had to put the bag into the desk drawer so I would not munch my way right to the bottom in a matter of minutes.

The plums pieces are a bit too small to balance against the chocolate flavor, but that’s okay. They really are just the vehicle to get the chocolate to my taste buds anyway. I will maintain that it’s all good and healthy now with that double shot of antioxidants to balance out the 90 calories of fat. Oh, and the 31g of sugar that ends up being a third of the gram content size of a single serving. I can ignore that fact, BECAUSE THE PACKAGING TELLS ME THESE ARE GOOD FOR ME! And DAMN these puppies are awesome!

I THINK ALL "FRUITS" SHOULD BE PUT IN A CART AND DUMPED IN THE LANDFILL. AND THAT INCLUDES THE ONES IN THE CLOSET.

Yup, that means getting the best of both worlds. At least, it won't hurt your teeth as much compared to just eating chunks of pure dark chocolates. Oh, these ones you got - dark chocolate covered plums - are actually good for the teeth. Now that's an icing to the cake of health benefits.
